Working with such partners as Grace Place for Families and Children, Wyndemere and Royal Poinciana, LVCC is helping to stem the tide of illiteracy. Our tutor trainers provide 16-hour training courses to staff and residents at their facility so they are qualified to become tutors. They in turn can work directly with their development or organization’s employees to help them master critical English skills. Community collaborations are key to helping Collier County residents learn English and live productive and happy lives.
Collier County is a thriving community with a growing population. Because of that, more businesses need to find employees who are literate in English.
Workplace Literacy is a critical and vital program to help employers. For a donation to Literacy Volunteers of Collier County, tutor trainers will work in partnership with local businesses and organizations. Whether it’s helping employees learn about safety, health, service, or basic communication skills, tutor trainers help design an English program specific to the needs of the employer.
